Steeped in the traditions of Italian master craftsmen, Bottega Veneta has set a new standard of luxury since its foundation in 1966 by entrepreneurs Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro in the Veneto region.
The company developed a distinctive leather weave design, called “intrecciato", that was used on the exterior of many of its products, and became widely associated with the Bottega Veneta brand. In 2001 Tomas Maier was hired as Bottega Veneta's Creative Director, creating a unique philosophy defined by four unchanging principles, the core values of Bottega Veneta: fine-quality materials, extraordinary craftsmanship, contemporary functionality and timeless design.
Daniel Lee was appointed Creative Director in 2018. Lee’s stated mission is to maintain the codes of the house—craftsmanship, quality and sophistication—while imbuing them with a new perspective and modernity.
