Yves Salomon

Gregory Salomon was a Russian dissident when he began his exile in Siberia at the beginning of the 20th century. In that land of fur traders and obligatory passage since the 13th century, he immersed himself in traditional fur culture and began his own activity, which would soon become a true passion. In 1920, the Salomon family emigrated to France, where Gregory established himself as one of the main fur traders in the Parisian marketplace.
His son Boris naturally took over the family business. He launched the fashion for spotted furs that he brought from his travels around the world and pop colors, supplying the most demanding houses until becoming president of the International Fur Federation. Yves Salomon, then a fur trader, ventured into the field of creation and established a workshop to fulfill the dreams of the greatest creators. This allowed him to develop new techniques and innovations followed one after another, transforming the fur landscape.
Between tradition and modernity, Yves Salomon associated his aura and signature of excellence, inventiveness and creativity. The logical suite resided in creating an eponymous brand that would blend style and revolutionary techniques. In 1980, Maison Yves Salomon came to light. Far from the image of traditional fur, the brand claims the long tradition of noble materials and the intuitive contribution of revolutionary techniques. The house works with a hundred different furs, from badger to muskrat, marmot, mink, lynx, fox, sable marten, chinchilla... Today it produces high-quality furs for Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel. Its first and most important boutique is located on the prestigious Saint-Honoré street in Paris, consolidating
four generations of centenary savoir-faire in a brand anchored in its time.
